    Job Title:
    Supervisor of Curriculum and Assessment
    Employment: Full-time - 12 Months
    Salary: $71,259 - $87,410
    Reports to: Superintendent

    JOB GOAL:
    To assist the district substantially and effectively in the task of providing leadership in developing, achieving, and maintaining the best possible educational programs and assessments.

    RESPONSIBLILITIES:
    District Curriculum, Curriculum Development and Materials, Staff Development, Testing and Evaluation, State and Federal Title Projects, ELL, Other Grant Funding as determined.

    QUALIFICATIONS:
    • High level project management experience.
    • Professional certification in K8 for the State of Arizona (valid).
    • Prior leadership or supervision experience.
    • A Master’s Degree or higher preferred.
    • Experience in proposal development and success in securing grants/awards.
    • Demonstrated effectiveness in dealing with the public.
    • Experience in grant writing, preferred.

    REQUIRED SKILLS:
    • Demonstrates understanding of Arizona School Curriculum and Standards
    • Demonstrates competencies in supervision, knowledge of instructional strategies, learning principles and student development.
    • Demonstrates the ability to work harmoniously and effectively with school personnel, pupils, parents and community.
    • Demonstrates sound and practical decision-making.
    • Demonstrated aptitude for planning and budgeting project proposals.
    • Strong grant writing and grant management ability
    • Strong communication skills.
    • Knowledge of word processing and data collection programs.
    • Demonstrated effective interpersonal skills in dealing with staff and the general public.
    • Supervises the District’s Curriculum and coordinates all phases of curriculum needs for grades K-8.
    • Assists the District in directing the administration and coordination of the District’s educational program.
    • Visits classes in supervisory capacity in cooperation with the school principal.
    • Counsels with individual teachers concerning curriculum and student problems.
    • Responsible to order adopted basic textbooks and related materials.
    • Responsible to order supplementary materials to meet individual needs.
    • Advises teachers of new programs and ways of supplementing their materials in cooperation with the school principal.
    • Coordinates all testing in the district and disseminates test results information to staff and community.
    • Organizes and supervise curriculum committees.
    • Determines teacher staff development needs and organize in-service training.
    • Responsible to make annual inventory of all district textbooks.
    • Assists in the management of English as a second language program.
    • Conducts new teacher orientation.
    • Assists in accomplishing district goals.
    • Assists in responding to questions, inquiries, or concerns raised by community members and staff.
    • Evaluates all federal legislation, projects and programs for the possibilities and opportunities they offer for educational grants, entitlements and allocations offered relevant to the needs of the district.
    • Directs the maintenance of records required for monitoring, evaluation and auditing of federal and state programs.
    • Monitors internal procedures to insure fiscal integrity of program funds in compliance with regulations governing expenditures of such funds.
    • Develops, implements and monitors procedures to insure timely submission of applications, amendments, reports, census data and evaluations required for federal, and state projects.
    • Performs other duties as required or assigned by the Superintendent.
