    Employment: 12 months
    Salary: Classified Salary Schedule
    Reports to: Director of Student Services
    Supervises: No Supervisory Responsibilities

    Qualifications and Required Skills:
    • Associates Degree or equivalent coursework and experience
    • Three or more years of relevant experience preferred
    • Experience in a culturally-diverse community preferred
    • Ability and willingness to work flexible hours
    • Good human relations and communication skills.
    • Knowledge of relevant district, state and federal policies and laws.
    • Skill in applying relevant federal, state rules, regulations, policies and procedures.
    • Excellent computer skills and ability to work with standard software products.
    • Demonstrates the ability to work effectively with school personnel, pupils, parents and community.
    • Demonstrates sound and practical decision-making.
    • Exercise positive problem-solving behavior and conflict resolution skills.
    Essential Functions:
    • Coordinate, organize, and monitor activities within assigned community education programs.
    • Communicate with parents and families from all Balsz schools to determine resource needs and coordinate resource allocation to families.
    • Plan and facilitate Parent Academy to connect with families.
    • Act as the district liaison for McKinney-Vento Homeless federal requirement.
    • Provide training to District-wide personnel on the identification of homeless students.
    • Provide support and coordination with community resources for services, childcare, transportation and education for families.
    • Work with various shelter facilities to provide services to homeless families.
    • Serve as contact for new homeless families and encourage enrollment in their neighborhood school.
    • Provide needed materials such as uniforms, school supplies, etc. to homeless students in the district.
    • Work with each school to track the progress of homeless students academically and track enrollment in school/extended day programs.
    • Facilitate transportation needs of the district homeless students.
    • Act as liaison with neighborhood, community and business associations.
    • Attend school and district evening events.
    • Coordinate and oversee adult education activities.
    • Maintain confidentiality of student and staff information
    • Attend required trainings and workshops
    • Perform other tasks as assigned.
