    Job Title: Network Specialist
    Employment: Twelve Months, Classified Exempt
    Reports to: Technology Supervisor

    Qualifications:
    • Level of knowledge and experience equivalent to that traditionally acquired through completion of a Bachelor’s Degree in Technology Systems, Computer Science, or related field.
    • Minimum three years technology support experience preferred. Microsoft and Cisco industry experience preferred.
    • Experience with network operation system support including Apple, Chrome, or Microsoft platforms.
    • Strong troubleshooting skills including interpersonal communication and team concepts.
    • Good understanding of basic concepts related to local and wide area networks.
    • Experience in cabling and physical connectivity.
    • Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose network related issues
    • Ability to communicate well and work collaboratively with other departments.
    • Experience with Visio and/or network documentation.
    • Familiarity with Active Directory, Group Policy, SCCM, Intune, and overall enterprise server administration
    • Familiarity with virtualization
    Required Skills:
    • Keyboard skills appropriate to data entry.
    • Command of business English and able to write letters using correct grammar, spelling and punctuation.
    • Knowledge of office procedures and basic bookkeeping procedures.
    • Knowledge of the operation of standard office machines and demonstrates computer literacy.
    • Communicate with others in a clear and precise manner and work cooperatively and tactfully with staff and public even in times of stress.
    • Maintain confidentiality of records, correspondence and conferences.
    • Relates to the public and staff in a positive manner.
    Essential Functions:
    • Supports daily operations for all technology systems throughout the District, including VoIP, WAN, and other network systems.
    • Assist with data communications network, including security and disaster recovery.
    • Assist with resolution of computer or network-related problems such as inoperative hardware or software.
    • Coordinates with vendors to for troubleshooting when necessary.
    • Tests proposed software packages to determine compatibility with existing LAN/WAN, and classroom applications.
    • Installs and maintains applications (including online learning and web based).
    • Manages hardware and software inventory, license records, and related reports.
    • Assist with Management and Maintenance of VoIP system and other network systems.
    • Assist district employees in the use of new network hardware and software.
    • Monitors compliance with District policies and procedures as they relate to technology system and data communications.
    • Regular and punctual attendance required to meet essential function of job responsibilities.
    • Ability to perform work after hours and/or weekends when necessary.
    • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
