    Job Title: Mathematics Intervention Teacher
    Employment: Teacher Contract Year
    Salary: Certified Salary Schedule
    Reports to: Principal and/or Assistant Principal
    Supervises: No Supervisory Responsibilities

    • Valid Arizona Teacher Certification
    • Highly Qualified Status as Middle School Mathematics Teacher
    • Three (3) years experience working in a school setting, preferred.

    Required Skills:
    • Ability to work with teachers to facilitate their expertise in conceptual math instruction so the teachers can implement research based practices in the classroom(s).
    • Ability to work with small groups of students who need strategic or intensive math intervention.
    • Ability to facilitate campus programs related to mathematics.
    • Ability to assist with interpretation of data related to mathematics.

    Essential Functions:
    • Provide instruction for at-risk students that are not meeting grade level expectations.
    • Progress monitor students as needed based on performance level.
    • Assist in identification of students in need of intervention groups.
    • Assist the staff and parents with the interpretation of evaluative data and other pupil record data.
    • Convey to parents and staff, information concerning specific student needs in educational areas, especially math.
    • Maintain records of student/staff contact and provide quarterly reports of math data.
    • Cooperate with outside agencies and other student support services and personnel with the district, when applicable.
    • Effectively manage the learning environment to prepare lesson plans, instruct students, evaluate and monitor students’ performance in order to advance student achievement.
    • Understand and appreciate diversity.
    • Work collaboratively with a team to plan intervention instruction.
    • Demonstrate a commitment to continuous learning.
    • Regular and punctual attendance required to meet essential function of job responsibilities
    • Other duties as assigned.
