    Employment: Twelve Months Benefited Exempt
    Salary: Classified Exempt
    Reports to: Director of Finance
    Supervises: Food Service Vendor Staff

    Qualifications:
    • High School diploma or equivalent required
    • Bilingual preferred
    • Associates or Bachelor’s Degree preferred
    • Experience and knowledge of school food services
    • Experience in all phases of school district food services
    • Ability to communicate with others in a clear and precise manner
    • Ability to independently analyze issues, solve problems, create plans of action
    • Ability to keep confidentiality of records, correspondence, sensitive information
    • Relates to the public, staff and administration in a positive manner
    • Effectively use a variety of computer programs to include, but not limited to: Excel and complex database programs
    Essential Functions:
    • Directs daily operations of food service operations to ensure employees have appropriate equipment, inventory and resources to perform their jobs and meet goals and deadlines.
    • Oversees the preparation, portioning, garnishing, presentation and safe storage of food.
    • Ensures that kitchen, equipment, storage facilities and dining room are sanitary, neat and organized.
    • Examines potential problems and apprises director of status on resolution of problems or issues, using appropriate resources was necessary.
    • Supervises day-to-day work activities by delegating authority, assigning and prioritizing activities and monitoring operating standards.
    • Manages by providing positive and constructive feedback to employees in order to reward, coach, correct and motivate.
    • Ensures compliance with all federal, state and local regulations as well as District policies and procedures (e.g. quality assurance, safety, operations, personnel).
    • Establishes a safe work environment for employees by providing safety-related training and equipment maintenance and by ensuring compliance with District safety and loss prevention programs and standards.
    • Manages the budget by controlling costs (e.g. labor, inventory, equipment, materials), complying with budget requirements and making adjustments when necessary.
    • Establishes operating standards, implements quality improvements and communicates them to employees.
    • Supervise and maintain department schedules.
    • Oversees the fix assets (tagging, reconciliations, disposal)
    • Oversees SFB projects (payment request, uploading documentation)
    • Regular and punctual attendance required to meet essential function of job responsibilities.
    • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
